Follow these steps

  1. Go to Clients → Client → Subscription.

  2. Click Add pause.

  3. Choose a date for when the pause will end.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Stripe will automatically apply any unused time as a credit to the next payment.

What happens when you pause

  • Stripe stops billing for future periods.

  • Unused days become credits.

  • When resumed, Stripe applies those credits automatically to the next invoice.

Example:

  • Subscription renews on the 1st.

  • You pause on the 15th.

  • When resumed, Stripe applies a credit for 15 unused days.

  • The next charge may be reduced or skipped.

What happens when you cancel and resend an offer

  • Canceling a subscription ends the current billing cycle.

  • When you send a new offer, the new subscription starts fresh — the client is charged exactly the amount set in the new offer.

  • Stripe does not carry over credits from the previous canceled subscription.

Notes & best practices

  • To avoid automatic credits, wait until the billing period ends before pausing.

  • If you plan to replace an existing offer, cancel instead of pausing — this resets billing cleanly.

FAQ

Can I pause without giving credit?

Yes — just wait until the billing period ends before pausing.

What happens if I resume right away?

Stripe will apply the unused time as a credit automatically.

Does canceling keep previous credits?

No — canceling ends the subscription, and a new offer starts fresh.
