How to set up Nutrition and macros for a client with RxFood

Set up Nutrition for a client by connecting RxFood and adding macro targets in Superset so you and your client can track calories and macro progress

Written by Agatha Beise

Nutrition in Superset can be powered by the RxFood integration. Nutrition is included on every plan. You'll find it in People → Clients → Client → Nutrition or People → Data.

On a plan from before October 1, 2026? Nutrition isn’t part of older plans. You can add it for $29/month or move to one of the new plans. Message us from the app and we’ll set it up.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Clients.

  2. Select the client you want to set up.

  3. Scroll to Nutrition.

  4. Click + or Edit in the right sidebar.

  5. Enter either:

    • Carbs, Protein, Fat, and Calories, or

    • Protein and Calories only.

  6. Click Add goal.

Notes & best practices

  • You'll see calories and macro progress in the Nutrition section and in the right sidebar.

  • If a client does not connect RxFood, Nutrition will not populate with food logs.

  • Coaches can view logged meals in both the web app and the mobile app.

  • RxFood setup currently depends on patient ID-based authentication. Make sure your client has their patient ID from your partner before they try to connect.

  • Superset currently shows macros and calories per meal, not per food item, because RxFood provides meal-level data in this workflow.

Can I edit macros later?

Yes. Go to Clients → Client → Nutrition and click Edit.

Can I see my client's meals in Superset?

Yes. Coaches can view logged meals in Superset on web and mobile. Superset currently shows macros and calories per meal, not per food item.

Why don't I see any nutrition data yet?

Most commonly, the client has not connected RxFood yet, hasn't logged any food, or doesn't have access to their patient ID.
