How to manage notifications

Choose how you receive each Superset notification, and control which alerts go to your clients

Written by Agatha Beise

Notifications in Superset can come through push (mobile app), email, or SMS (coaches only, US numbers). You manage both your own and your clients' notifications from the same place.

By default, you'll receive notifications on every channel available for that alert. Once you customize it, you'll pick one channel per notification.

For a full list of every notification Superset sends and on which channel, see What notifications Superset sends.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Account β†’ Notifications.

  2. Review the list of notification types.

  3. Select how you want to receive each one: Push, SMS, or Email.

  4. (Optional) Adjust client notifications by toggling them on or off.

  5. To disable all alerts at once, use Turn off all notifications.

  6. Click Save to apply changes.

Notes & best practices

  • By default, you receive every notification on every channel available for it. As soon as you customize a notification, it switches to a single channel.

  • Always click Save after updating preferences, changes don't apply until you do.

  • Client push notifications only work if the client has the Superset app installed.

  • Push is the fastest channel for real-time updates.

  • SMS only works for US phone numbers (+1).

  • Some notifications are push-only or email-only by design. If a channel isn't available for a notification, it won't appear as an option.

  • You can change these settings anytime.

FAQ

Do clients control their own notifications?

Not yet. Coaches manage client notifications from the Notifications tab in their own account.

If I turn off all notifications, will my clients still receive theirs?

No. Turn off all notifications applies to both you and your clients.

Will changes apply instantly?

Yes, as soon as you click Save.

What if I'm not receiving a notification I expected?

Double-check the channel setting in Account β†’ Notifications. If push is off, you won't get push alerts even if the notification is enabled. For push-only notifications, turning off push means you won't be notified at all.
