How custom session statuses work

Go beyond complete, incomplete, no show, and canceled with session statuses that match how your facility works

Written by Agatha Beise

Every session in Superset carries a status. By default you can mark a session complete, incomplete, no show, or canceled.

Custom session statuses let your account use its own labels instead, so reporting matches how your facility actually tracks attendance.

Using a status

  1. Open the session.

  2. Choose Update status.

  3. Pick the status that applies.

How to set up custom statuses

Custom statuses are configured at the account level. Email [email protected] with the statuses you want and the team will set them up.

Notes & best practices

  • Decide your list before rolling it out. Changing statuses later means past sessions were recorded under labels you no longer use, which makes reporting messy.

  • Keep the list short. Long status lists slow coaches down and get used inconsistently.

  • Cover the cases you actually report on. If nobody looks at a status in a report or a payroll run, it probably doesn't need to exist.

  • Statuses that affect billing — late cancellations, for example — need agreement with whoever handles invoicing before you add them.

FAQ

What are the default statuses?

Complete, incomplete, no show, and canceled.

Can each coach define their own statuses?

No. They're set for the account so reporting stays consistent.

What happens to past sessions if we change a status?

They keep the status they were given. Settle on your list before rolling it out.

How do I get custom statuses?

Email [email protected] with the list you want.
