Open the Superset app and tap Inbox in the corner of your Home tab.

Inbox is an overview, not a chat. You can't reply to items from here.

If your coach has direct messaging turned on for your account, you'll also see a Messages tab next to Inbox, that's where you chat with them directly. If you don't see it, your coach hasn't enabled it.

Everything in your Inbox reflects real activity from your coach, it's not a general notifications feed.

Direct messaging is optional and turned on per client by your coach. If you don't see it, ask your coach to enable it.

No. Inbox is just an activity overview. If you have Messages enabled, use that tab to chat directly.
