Messages is where coaches and clients have real conversations. It's separate from the Inbox, which only shows activity like workouts, check-ins, and account events.
Follow these steps
Enable messaging per client before you can chat with them:
Open Clients.
Select the client you want to message.
Open the client’s Settings tab.
Toggle on In-app messaging.
Click Save.
💡 Tip: Messaging is enabled one client at a time. There's no bulk toggle, so if a client says they can't message you, this is the first thing to check.
Where to find Messages
Coaches (Web)
Open Messages from the left sidebar to see all messaging-enabled clients, search conversations, spot unread indicators, and open a client's details or profile without leaving the chat.
Coaches (Mobile)
Tap the chat icon in the top-right of the Clients tab to open your Messages inbox: a list of all conversations with unread indicators, last-message previews, and timestamps. Tap any client to open the chat. You can also still open a chat the direct way: go to Clients, tap a client, then open their conversation from their profile.
Clients
Clients start a chat from the chat button on their Home screen or the Message your coach card.
What Messages supports
Real-time conversations
Image sharing on web and mobile
File attachments on the web app (mobile supports image attachments only)
Voice memos that can be recorded, sent, and played back on both web and mobile
Read receipts (when enabled) and typing indicators
Full conversation history
Multiple coaches participating in the same client conversation
Notes & best practices
One thread per client. Everyone with access shares it, and each message shows the sender's name.
Multi-coach access: admins see all conversations, managers see their location's, coaches see only their assigned clients.
Coaches get the Messages inbox on web (sidebar) and mobile (chat icon on the Clients tab). Clients don't have an inbox, just their own thread.
Attachments: web sends files and images, mobile sends images only.
