How to sign in with a verification code

Require a 6-digit email code at login — available on Business and Enterprise plans

Written by Agatha Beise

Available on the Business and Enterprise plans.

Some organisations require a second step at sign-in. After your password, Superset emails you a 6-digit code and asks for it before letting you in.

Follow these steps

  1. Sign in with your email and password as usual.

  2. Superset shows Enter your code and emails a 6-digit code to your address.

  3. Open the email and copy the code.

  4. Enter it, then choose Verify.

Turning it on for your organisation

This is applied at the account level by the Superset team. Email [email protected] to have it enabled.

Notes & best practices

  • The code goes to the email address on the Superset account, not to a phone number.

  • If it hasn't arrived, wait for the countdown to finish and choose Resend code. There's a short cooldown to stop duplicate emails.

  • Check spam or junk before resending. The code often lands there the first time.

  • Each code is single-use. Requesting a new one stops the previous code working.

  • Everyone on the account will be asked for a code on each new device or browser, so tell your team before switching it on.

FAQ

Is this available on my plan?

Verification codes at login are part of Business and Enterprise. Email [email protected] to talk about moving up.

The code never arrives. What now?

Check spam first, then use Resend code once the cooldown ends. If it still doesn't arrive, email [email protected].

Can I use an authenticator app instead?

No. Superset sends the code by email.

Why am I asked for a code again on the same device?

Clearing your browser data or signing out fully will prompt a new code the next time you sign in.
