How to replace an exercise everywhere in a program

Swap one exercise across every workout in a program at once — available on request for accounts that need it

Written by Agatha Beise

When an exercise repeats across a program, you can swap it everywhere in one action instead of opening each workout. Useful when a client can't perform a movement, or equipment isn't available for the whole block.

This is turned on per account. If you don't see Replace all, email [email protected] and ask for it.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the program and go to the exercise you want to change.

  2. Choose Replace exercise.

  3. Pick the exercise you want to use instead.

  4. Choose Replace all to change every instance in the program. To change only the one you opened, replace it without choosing Replace all.

  5. Confirm. You'll see Exercise replaced when it's done.

Notes & best practices

  • If the replacement is already somewhere in the program, Superset warns you: Replacing everywhere will create duplicates. Continue? Check the program first if you don't want the same movement twice in one session.

  • Replace all applies to the whole program, not just the week you're looking at.

  • Sets, reps, and loading carry over to the new exercise. Review them afterwards, since a different movement often needs a different load.

  • Completed workouts aren't rewritten. The change applies going forward, so a client's history stays accurate.

FAQ

I don't see Replace all. Why?

It's enabled per account on request. Email [email protected] and the team will turn it on.

Does this change workouts my client already completed?

No. Completed workouts keep what was actually performed.

What if the new exercise is already in the program?

Superset warns you that replacing everywhere will create duplicates, and asks you to confirm.

Do sets and reps carry over?

Yes. Review the loading afterwards, since a different movement usually needs a different weight.
