Percentage-based weight lets you prescribe loads like 70% or 70–80% based on your client’s 1RM, instead of typing a specific weight value or weight range (like 50–60).
You’ll find it in Programming when editing a program template or an existing program.
Follow these steps
Open Programming.
Click Start from a template or open an existing program to edit.
Open the exercise you want to update.
In the exercise fields, open Weight.
Enter a percentage like 70% or a range like 70–80%.
Save your changes.
Notes & best practices
Percentages are calculated from your client’s saved max weight (1RM) for that movement, not an estimated value.
You can use ranges (like 70–80%) to give clients flexibility while still anchoring the load to their max.
If the calculated weight looks off, your client can update their max directly from the same area where the percentage shows, and the load will update automatically.
Use percentages for main lifts (strength work) to keep progression consistent even as a client’s max changes.
If your client hasn’t entered a max yet, have them add it first so the percentage can calculate correctly.
FAQ
Is the percentage based on an estimated 1RM?
No. It uses the max weight your client has entered (their saved 1RM), not an estimate.
Can I program a percentage range instead of a single number?
Yes, you can enter a range like 70–80%.
What if my client’s max is wrong?
They can edit their max from the same area where they see the percentage-based weight, and the calculated load updates automatically.
Where does my client update their max?
In the tab/section where the percentage-based weight is shown for that lift, they can edit the saved max there.
